Those icy mornings and two hour delay school schedules are just a distant memory now that spring has arrived. It’s time to put on the shorts and head outdoors. We’ve found an amazing assortment of family fun in WNC check it all out, there’s something here for just about every family’s interest.UNCA is the place to be April 8 11 for the UNC Arts Fest. It’s the second year for the festival, which offers life music, dancing, workshops, artists, performances and speakers.Farmers market eventsThere are a couple of special events coming up this month at the Western North Carolina Farmers Market, at 570 Brevard Road. A BBQ Cook off Bluegrass Jam is slated for April 10 11 with live music and lots of good food. Auto enthusiasts will enjoy coming out on April 11 for the Farmers Market Car Show.Check out the fairThe Mother Earth News Fair takes place April 11 12 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher. The fair features hundreds of vendors promoting sustainable lifestyle products and services, as well as workshops and demonstrations. jerseys It’s a great free family activity join in the fun by making music, dancing, or just enjoying the vibe.It’s time to get off the couch and spend time enjoying spring. The perfect place to get the family engaged in outdoor activities is Trailfest 2015 in Hot Springs. This free family event runs April 17 19. Some of the events include storyteller Doug Elliot on Friday night, a climbing wall and low ropes course open all day Saturday. Plus there will be a bike decoration station; bike tune up station; face painting and more. This free event includes playing at the Founder’s Bridge surf wave, meeting vendor reps from a variety of outdoor companies, and racing on the water. Plus live music, other fun activities and more. and features the Crooked Pine Band. That’s when the 18th Annual Greening Up the Mountains Festival takes place. Lots of fun on the agenda: arts and craft demonstrations, a 5K race, live music, kids’ activities, food, and a children’s talent show. This event brings as many as 12,000 people to downtown Sylva.
