Those icy mornings and two hour delay school schedules are just a distant memory now that spring has arrived. It’s time to put on the shorts and head outdoors. A BBQ Cook off Bluegrass Jam is slated for April 10 11 with live music and lots of good food. The fair features hundreds of vendors promoting sustainable lifestyle products and services, as well as workshops and demonstrations. The perfect place to get the family engaged in outdoor activities is Trailfest 2015 in Hot Springs. This free family event runs April 17 19. Some of the events include storyteller Doug Elliot on Friday night, a climbing wall and low ropes course open all day Saturday. Plus there will be a bike decoration station; bike tune up station; face painting and more. This free event includes playing at the Founder’s Bridge surf wave, meeting vendor reps from a variety of outdoor companies, and racing on the water.
